Worthy causes and wide-ranging impact.
For its 2020 grants, WISH members voted to fund 15 projects that will improve health in our community. The projects touch a variety of health care programs and services, from mental health to preventive care to special equipment. They serve a broad demographic: teens, older adults, early childhood, new parents, and more.

When we join together to do good in our community, the positive effect is magnified. $50,890 in WISH grants have been funded for 2020. $367,469 in WISH grants has been distributed over the life of the program. We couldn’t do it without you, and we are grateful for your support.

Healthy Hearts program reaches more students with WISH-funded materials.
2019 grant recipient Healthy Hearts used its funds to enhance the materials it uses to teach kids about the dangers of vaping.

Meghan Willis, a program specialist for Healthy Hearts, says, “Our printed WISH-funded booklets for high school students are a wonderful resource and complement to our education presentation. The updated graphics on vaping/tobacco information are so engaging that we were able to utilize them for elementary and middle school students as well. Your donation extended to reach 14,000 students across counties and grades. Of the high school students who reported smoking or vaping, 45% reported planning to reduce usage or quit after receiving Healthy Hearts education.”

High school students’ feedback after attending a Healthy Hearts session at their school is encouraging.

“I learned that vapes are more harmful than we think.” —Loveland High School student

“I learned that vaping has heavy metals in it.” —Mountain View High School student

“I attended a Healthy Hearts session previously, and this year I noticed the update of a bigger emphasis on vaping. This a really important topic to address with high school students.” —Fort Collins High School student
