UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation has received two Larimer County Behavioral Health Services 2025 Impact Grants totaling more than $140,000 to strengthen access to behavioral health care in our region. These grants reflect UCHealth’s continued commitment to integrating behavioral health into community care and improving mental health outcomes across the region.

The first grant, totaling $121,657, supports co-responder programs, which pair licensed clinicians with law enforcement officers to respond to behavioral health crises in real-time. This funding allows for one full-time clinician and partial support for a supervisory role—enhancing the program’s ability to provide immediate, compassionate care while reducing unnecessary hospitalizations or incarcerations and helping individuals connect to ongoing support services.

The second grant, in the amount of $20,000, was awarded to support the Family Medicine Center in conducting a comprehensive behavioral health needs assessment and program evaluation. This work will help identify care gaps, guide future programming, and expand behavioral health services to better meet the evolving needs of our community.

These initiatives are supported by UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation’s philanthropic mission to advance innovative, community-driven care solutions. We are proud to partner with Larimer County Behavioral Health Services in building a stronger, more responsive behavioral health system.

Co-responder teams providing critical 911 behavioral health care

Thousands of people annually in Larimer County call 911 when they or someone they know is experiencing a mental health crisis. Now, a fourth branch of emergency services, a mental health co-responder team responds.
