Give to the LONG COVID SUPPORT GROUP fund

Connecting care, community, and compassion

Long COVID can impact nearly every aspect of a person’s life—physically, mentally, and emotionally. For many, symptoms such as chronic fatigue, brain fog, and shortness of breath persist for weeks, months, or even years after the initial infection.

At UCHealth, our specialists provide compassionate, comprehensive, and up-to-date care across multiple settings—through individual providers, multidisciplinary clinics, clinical trials, and ongoing support groups.

Why this matters | Your impact

More than 15% of adults in Colorado report having experienced symptoms of long COVID, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Long COVID Household Pulse Survey (October 2023). For many, the effects are unpredictable and wide-ranging—impacting everything from mobility and memory to heart and lung function.

Despite these challenges, there is hope. UCHealth’s Long COVID specialists, including nurse and clinical educator Michaela Martinez, RN, and pulmonary and critical care physician Dr. Matthew Light, facilitate a Long COVID Information, Discussion, and Support (LCIDS) group. This group fosters community, provides education, and helps participants navigate daily life with Long COVID.

About the Long COVID Fund

When you give to the Long COVID Fund, you help ensure that patients in our community have access to the care, education, and support they need to heal and thrive.

Gifts to the fund provide vital support for patients and families across northern Colorado, helping fund staffing, training, supplies, outreach, and other program needs that enhance care delivery and strengthen community impact.

Together, we can continue to advance care and bring hope to those still feeling the effects of COVID-19.

Long COVID Symptoms

Because symptoms vary widely, many people don’t realize they are experiencing long COVID. That’s why programs like UCHealth’s are so essential—they bring together care teams, patients, and families to support recovery, share knowledge, and inspire resilience.

Symptoms may include:

  • Chronic fatigue or exhaustion

  • “Brain fog” and other neurological symptoms such as dizziness or headaches

  • Shortness of breath or chronic cough

  • Irregular heartbeat or chest pain

  • Muscle or joint pain

  • Digestive issues, rashes, hair loss, and more

All gifts to UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Please consult with your tax adviser for information regarding your tax deduction.
