With the turn of the new year, the UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH) construction project is expected to reach important milestones in 2024. After nearly 100 years of serving our community, PVH is a clear leader in providing progressive, quality patient care, driven by our passionate and exceptional physicians, nurses, and staff. The need for updates to the facility and the adoption of modern, advanced technology is apparent based on the increased volume of patients that PVH serves every year.

As a long-standing community asset, PVH serves tens of thousands of people annually. As of June 30, 2023, PVH reported:

  • 77,333 ER visits
  • 584,225 outpatient visits
  • 17,253 inpatient admissions
  • 1,713 births
  • 9,329 surgical procedures
  • 263 beds

The project’s final delivery is still on track to be completed ahead of PVH’s 100th anniversary in 2025.

Since construction began in 2021, completions to date include:

  • Outpatient Surgery Center
  • Heart and Vascular Center and testing spaces

Join UCHealth in Partnership

We’re looking for partners to support UCHealth’s Outpatient Surgery Center and Heart & Vascular Center
Vision, passion, and opportunity are at the root of our ambitious plans to deliver the latest care in the most modern, technologically advanced facilities. The PVH capital campaign’s success depends on your generous philanthropic investment.

UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation has limited, exciting naming opportunities remaining. Be a part of the PVH legacy alongside partners like Woodward Charitable Trust and Markley Motors, Inc. to bring comprehensive, top-quality care to northern Colorado through elevated healing environments. We’re looking for partner support for UCHealth’s Outpatient Surgery Center and Heart & Vascular Center.

Outpatient Surgery Center

The new outpatient surgery area consists of both pre- and post-procedure spaces for the surgical admissions center, gastrointestinal/pulmonary procedures, cardiac and vascular catheterization lab, and interventional radiology. As outpatient surgeries do not require an overnight hospital stay, this elevated space will provide calming, healing environments for both patients and their families—before and after procedures.

Among UCHealth’s 13 state-wide hospitals, PVH’s surgeries and outpatient visits represent 8 percent and 7 percent of UCHealth’s total volume respectively. Based on the June 2023 metrics, PVH saw an average of 1,601 outpatient visits per day and performed a surgical procedure every hour of every day.

Heart and Vascular Center

Located immediately adjacent to the new entrance of the hospital, the Heart and Vascular Center will feature a new 22-bay clinic. PVH recently expanded heart and vascular services. These new spaces will be instrumental in elevating the quality of care and treatments provided.

Some of the services and diagnostic testing this unit provides includes:

  • Angioplasty
  • Arrhythmia treatments, including cardioversions and cardiac ablations
  • Cardiac and nuclear stress testing
  • Cardiac catheterization and peripheral angiography
  • Coronary and intravascular stenting
  • EKGs
  • Imaging, including echocardiograms, interventional radiology, MRIs, nuclear, and intravascular ultrasounds
  • Percutaneous coronary intervention
  • Peripheral interventions, including carotid artery stenting
  • Preventive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation
