Each September since 2012, the Ptarmigan Ladies Golf Association (PLGA) has hosted the Double Cup Golf Tournament to benefit our cancer patient and family assistance fund. At this year’s tournament on Sept. 7, the group raised an incredible $20,000—bringing the total raised over the past 11 years to $64,000 to help cancer patients and their families pay for expenses not covered by health insurance.

On Sept. 17, as part of its 70th anniversary celebration, Houska Automotive hosted a fundraiser for the UCHealth Family Medicine Center food pantry, raising an amazing $10,000. Throughout its long history of serving northern Colorado, Houska Automotive has been a supporter of the health of our community. The business has hosted blood drives and donated to support cancer care and help those in our community who are experiencing food insecurity.

We are deeply thankful for the support of the PLGA and Houska Automotive. Because of their generosity and the fundraisers they foster, hundreds of patients and their families experiencing a cancer diagnosis or food insecurity can breathe a little easier.

This month, several local organizations are holding fundraisers for cancer patient assistance. View the most up-to-date list on our Community-Hosted Events page. We’re grateful to these businesses and their patrons—thank you!
