UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation has received two Larimer County Behavioral Health Services 2025 Impact Grants totaling more than $140,000 to strengthen access to behavioral health care in our region. These grants reflect UCHealth’s continued commitment to integrating behavioral health into community care and improving mental health outcomes across the region.
Taking Control: Elizabeth’s Journey Through Health Coaches for Hypertension Control (HCHC)
For many individuals, managing high blood pressure can feel overwhelming—especially when faced with limited time and resources from health care providers. That was Elizabeth’s experience last summer when she realized something wasn’t quite right with her health. Her journey is a testament to the power of education, community, and personal commitment in managing hypertension. With continued support and program expansion, even more individuals will have the opportunity to take control of their health, just like Elizabeth did.
First responders start delivering life-saving whole blood
UCHealth and Thompson Valley Emergency Medical Services are teaming up to provide life-saving whole blood to patients experiencing significant blood loss before they get to the hospital.
This is one of the first pre-hospital whole-blood programs to launch in Colorado, and it is a major shift in how emergency care is delivered in the field.

Through a bequest to UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation, Gerald Pedersen capped off a decades-long legacy of donating to health in northern Colorado. Designated for children’s hospital services, the gift will support the new state-of-the-art, five-bed pediatrics unit at UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH). His son, Mark Pedersen, presented the foundation with his father’s legacy gift.
